“Becoming” Tamara Lowe
Tamara is currently the country manager of Tropical Shipping, Dominica and has been at the helm since 2013 with shipping and transportation industry experience which spans over a decade.
Tamara holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, a post-graduate diploma in Management and is presently completing a master’s degree in strategic management. She also speaks fluent Spanish, which has proven to be an invaluable asset within the Caribbean and Latin American space.

Woryijan - Kalinago Women & Intersectionality
On August 9, 2023, International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, Black Island Girl Multimedia released a 10-minute podcast episode titled "Woryijan (Women); Kalinago Women and Intersectionality."
This episode is part of a master’s degree research project in media production, featuring interviews with over 10 Kalinago women, including Dr. Velma Valmond and Vincia Casey. The podcast is dedicated to the late Dr. Velma Valmond and was produced by Black Island Girl Multimedia.

Dominican Women: My COVID19 Experience
Recorded over two weeks in October 2021, this podcast series shares stories of Dominican women during the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, Dominica had 4,537 recovered cases and, as of November 1, 2021, 32 deaths, with 18 being women aged 40-107.
Funded by the Clara Lionel Foundation through Internews' Eastern Caribbean Small Grants Program, the series highlights COVID-resilient groups in Barbados and Dominica. It was produced by Black Island Girl Multimedia and recorded both in-person and virtually via ZOOM in Dominica.
