Recognizing the region’s vulnerability to multiple hazards and climate-induced displacement, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in collaboration with the Government of St Kitts and Nevis, convened a two-day Regional Workshop titled Mainstreaming Human Mobility and Human Security in Caribbean Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction Policies: Progress and Way Forward. This event marked the culmination of activities by IOM under the 15-month Human Security Joint Programme which was aimed at “Promoting a human security approach to disaster displacement, environmental migration and disaster risk reduction in the Caribbean Region”

Rianna Patterson, founder of the Dominica Dementia Foundation has been awarded a full scholarship - funded by the UK Research Institute towards a PhD in dementia at the University of Nottingham, within the School of Medicine. Her PhD thesis will explore the feasibility of technology in dementia care for marginalized communities, including Caribbean populations in London.
